April 20 Announcements

Chugiak’s Gay/ Straight will have an information table at the 4-way on Wednesday and Thursday of this week for the Day of Silence, TOMORROW, 4/21. The Day of Silence is an event which promotes awareness for youth who feel silenced by society for their identity and/ or sexuality. Its purpose is to show support for LGBTQ+ youth. If you have any questions or want to participate, come to our table, located at the top of the ramp, or room 194, and talk to Ms. Torbensen-Armstrong.
Need Saturday Proctoring for iSchool. Proctoring is available at KCC BY APPOINTMENT ONLY starting this Saturday, April 22nd till May 20th. See Mrs. LaRue in the Library for information on making an appointment.

Come one, come all! Prom tickets are on sale Monday, Wednesday, Friday during lunch and after school until April 28th. Tickets cost $55 and will NOT be sold the day of Prom.

National Honor Society has a meeting on TOMORROW in Room 5 during Lunch. All meetings are mandatory and count towards attendance unless excused by an advisor or officer. KCC students who will miss the meeting please see Ms. Smith or the Google Classroom for notes and announcements.

On Friday, 28 April 2017, Chugiak HS will be participating in the Anchorage School District’s Super Sweepers program.

Next week, the Interact Club is hosting a food drive to benefit the Eagle River Food Pantry! Please bring cans of food or other non-perishables which will help a family in need. Donation boxes will be placed by the library, the main intersection by Senior hall, and by the Activities office. Let’s make our community a better place by helping others!

The deadline to purchase a YEARBOOK for guaranteed pick-up at Senior Step Down Assembly on Friday, May 5th is fast approaching. You must order your yearbook on yearbookforever.com by FRIDAY, APRIL 28TH to be able to pick up your copy after the Step Down Assembly. At the assembly, extra copies MAY be available for purchase, but there is no guarantee. When we run out, we run out. you don’t want to miss out! Reserve your copy today by purchasing online before it’s too late!

Future 11th and 12th Grade Students: Gifted Mentorship Application Deadline for next year is April 21. This is an opportunity to shadow someone in the career field of your choice! See if your chosen career field is a good fit or use the opportunity to explore a career! Applications can be submitted online. Contact Amber Jaasma at 742-3841 or see Mrs. Davis in room 186 for more information. GPA of 3.5 is one of the requirements.

Senior Fun Day is Thursday April 27. Seniors must have permission slip and $ turned in.
