March 29 Announcements

 Are you interested in a summer job? KCC is hosting their annual Job Fair on April 4th. The hiring businesses will be from Banking, Tourism, Transportation, Retail, Healthcare, Construction, Military, Athletics, and more! Students must be 16 years or older to attend, graduating seniors are welcome! Chugiak High will only be taking 25 students to the fair, so go see Mrs. Fullmer as soon as possible to sign up! Deadline to sign up is today.

 Chugiak Mustangs: Tomorrow at 1:09 p.m., Chugiak Student Government will be hosting a 1-minute fundraiser, also known as Miracle Minute, in competition with the other high schools in the school district. All proceeds will go to benefit AK Child and Family, a non-profit organization that offers mental health assistance to children from broken homes. Be ready with your change!

 Attention Lady Mustang Seniors. There is still time to apply for the Chugiak Eagle River Women in Business Scholarship worth up to $1000. Application deadline is Sunday, April 1st. See the bulletin board in the library for more details.

 Improv is actively recruiting for next year. We need both acting and behind the scene team members. See Mrs. Templeton in room 12 for details.

 Calling all artists! Poster contest for the improv show in May! Come get rules and important information in Room 12. Poster ideas due by April 10.

 Saturday, March 31 is International Transgender Visibility Day. The day was established in 2009 to celebrate transgender people and their identities and to remember and recognize their struggles and contributions to the LGBT community. One acknowledgement: Kye Allums, the first openly transgender athlete in NCAA history to play basketball for George Washington University. She is an advocate for the transgender community and has founded Project I am Enough, which encourages self-love and self-esteem for all.

 Artists of all kinds needed. Here’s your chance to share your talents! Student artists, photographers, sculptors, fiber artists, potters, and more are encouraged to submit pieces for the CHS Art Extravaganza. Please see Mrs. LaRue in the Library as soon as possible for more information.

 Prom – WHO NEEDS GUEST PASSES? – Freshman & Sophomores from Chugiak AND Students NOT from Chugiak, NEED a guest pass. These passes are due no later than April 9th. They are now available in the Attendance or Activities Office.
