 Come buy your Red Out shirt at lunch for the basketball rivalry game against Eagle River on the 24th. Shirts are being sold for $10 at the top of the ramp and all the proceeds go to the American Heart Association.

The winning class will compete against the staff on March 2nd.

 Jostens will be here today at lunch to distribute all of the caps and gowns already ordered! If you haven’t turned in an order yet, fill out an order form and turn it in to the Jostens representative at lunch!

February 9 Announcements

 It is National Counseling Week! All week we have been saying thank you in appreciation of our wonderful counselors! Please stop in and say thank you to your counselor! Did you know: Counselors celebrate our successes and are great cheerleaders?! Thank you to our phenomenal counselors for all that they do for us!

 After school on the 28th of Feb. in rooms 207/208 the Olympiada of Spoken Russian and Russian Language and Culture Day will be held from 2-4:30p.m. Additionally there will be several Russian painting art activities, Russian food, and Russian cartoons hosted by CHS alum Sabra Tierney and the CHS Russian Club. Anyone interested is welcome to attend the cultural activities. If any other students want to participate in the Competition of Spoken Russian known as Spoken Olympiada, please stop by and see Mrs. Ekberg-Brown in room 182 by the end of this week to register for our local competition.

 NHS has a meeting today. All meetings are mandatory. Please see Mrs. Logan, Ms. Smith or an officer if you cannot attend.

 Girls soccer open gym Mondays and Tuesdays from 7:30 to 9:00. Girls soccer preseason open gyms are starting this Monday, February 12th, and will be in the main gym at 7:30. Bring your flats and shinguards and come meet your new team, get warmed up for the season, and improve your skills before the season tryouts!

 There will be an FCCLA officers meeting Tuesday AFTERSCHOOL and an FCCLA meeting WEDNESDAY afterschool for all members.

There is lots of scholarship information, including several new opportunities posted just this week. Deadlines vary greatly, but many scholarships have an application due date around Spring Break.

 Congratulations to the ASD Battle of the Books runners-up: Libby Brown, Kayla Hall, Sierra Hatt, and Kelby Kinney!

 Congratulations to the 100 CHS Students who competed in the World Language Declamation contest last Saturday. 60 CHS students won awards and qualified for the state competition on March 3rd. But extra congratulations to Sophia Lestina, Casey McCormick, Payton Johnson, Emmy Numann, Gina Kodiak, and Cullen McCormick who won awards in multiple languages. Great job representing our school. All Declamation participants in all languages are welcome to come to Frau Senden’s room at lunch on Thursday for free cake to celebrate!

 Come join the discussion at the next Parent, Teacher, Student Communication Organization (PTSCO) tomorrow evening at 7 pm in the school library. We have several topics to tackle, to include mental health issues, communications & establishing a formal PTSO.
