November 14 Announcements

NHS will be holding peer tutoring in the library after school from 2-3pm on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning TODAY. Please sign up in room 4 if you are interested in coming. We will be having a pizza party to kick off TODAY! We have a lot of different peer tutors available who have taken many different classes and can help in whatever subject you are struggling in. Please join us on Monday!

On December 8th at the band concert, there will be a pottery sale in the lobby of the auditorium. The concert begins at 7pm. We will be set up in the lobby for the duration of the concert. Cash only purchases.

World Discovery Seminar is hosting Chugiak’s 4th annual Feast or Famine! Come to House 2 during lunch on Thursday, November 17th to play the odds for $3 or a donation of 3 cans. Some will have the chance to enjoy a delicious feast, while others will enjoy a meal of tasty rice. (You can get an automatic feast for $10!) All donations benefit the Eagle River Food Pantry!

Mens Basketball season is quickly approaching! You must turn in all paperwork; current physical, and activities fee. Otherwise you will not be eligible to participate in tryouts November 30th. Please get all required information in ASAP!!!

Seniors, don’t forget to be submitting your senior photos and quotes! Both are due December 9th – no exceptions! Email your photos and quotes to chsyearbooksenior2017@gmail.com (In classes of seniors please ask teachers if you can write the email on the board).

Don’t forget to be designing the art you would like to submit to the yearbook for the Endsheet Art Contest. Entries are due by December 1st to Mrs. Gilbert (room 184). Winner will win a free yearbook and be a featured artist in the yearbook! Questions? Talk to Mrs. Gilbert.

On Friday, November 4th , there will be a field trip to the UAA Preview Day. This is an excellent opportunity for students to tour the campus and visit their preferred programs on campus. The trip is open to interested juniors and seniors Lunch will be provided. Permission forms are due TODAY, Nov 2nd at 2pm.

Trick or Treat for UNICEF is coming TUESDAY during Stampede. Donations will go to UNICEF’s efforts to end deadly neonatal tetanus. Please bring your change to school tomorrow to contribute!

Sept 23 Announcements

Anyone interested in boys basketball this year please meet coach Sconiers in the library TODAY at lunch!

Wrestling starts on Wed Sept. 28th at 2:30 pm. anyone who wants to wrestle, go to activities office and get all required paperwork to get signed up. Please see Coach Huffer if you have any questions.

The Academic Awards Assembly will be held Wednesday, September 28th, during lunch. Students should have received an invitation in the mail the first weeks of September. Academic Awards are given to any 10th – 12th grade student with a GPA of 3.5 or above for 2 consecutive semesters. Check in is at 10:25 am and should wrap up before 4th period. Lunch will be provided.

On Wednesday, October 12, the entire school will have a morning assembly schedule. During this time the Class of 2017 will participate in their senior assembly where they will receive information including caps and gowns, senior superlatives, senior quotes, senior portrait and page deadlines, and participate in their large group photo. Teachers with 9th -11th grade students will remain in their classroom location.

Mathletes will be meeting Wednesday 9/21 at 2:10 in Rm 15. We will be making
locker signs at this meeting.
