WACKO AM Bell Schedule

  • Come see Fiddler on the Roof. Shows run Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7pm at the Bartlett auditorium. Tickets cost $12 and may be purchased at the door. Come see students from GMS, CHS, and ERHS put on this classic musical!

  • Seniors – new updated poll for class song and quote. Please vote HERE.
  • Chugiak Staff and Students: There are donation boxes in several locations throughout the building for you to bring and donate reflective tape, vests, or jackets. There has been concern for safety most recently for people’s visibility at night. The GSA is collecting donations for the Brother Francis Shelter. Please join us until spring break in gathering these items in:

  • It’s WACKO Spirit Week!  Tomorrow is Class Color Day!  We hope to see everyone decked out in their spirit gear in preparation for this year’s WACKO!

  • Want to earn your class an extra WACKO point and support a good cause at the same time? National Honor Society is sponsoring a Winter Clothing Drive for the Northstar Behavioral Health program in Palmer. This program supports young men ages 11-18 in a therapeutic environment that includes a lot of outdoor recreational therapy. They are always in need of new or like new winter gear to participate in year round outdoor Alaskan experiences. NHS wants to support this program by sponsoring a winter clothing drive where the class that collects the most items wins an extra point for WACKO!!! Gear is being collected in the library Monday – Thursday during WACKO week. See a member of NHS, Mrs. Logan, or Ms. Smith for questions.

And a huge round of applause goes to Emmy Numann, Spencer Allen, and Kirstina Manwaring for the nearly unanimous adoption of their resolutions on Sudanese women’s rights during General Assembly.

The class is open to 9-12 grade students interested in taking the class and working on a large scale construction project or those interested in a class for credit. It is a class open to both Eagle River and Chugiak High School students. 8 spots are open for CHS students. The class is from April 3 to May 17 and goes from 3-5:30 pm in room 502. If interested please stop by your counselor to sign up or if you have questions stop by room 502 and talk to Mr. Martin (the applied tech teacher from Gruening).
  • If you want a quiet place to study and maybe a little help with your homework then come to room 7 after school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for Study Hall.
  • The CHS Testing Center is open!! The Testing Center allows you a consistent time and dependable location to make-up quizzes and tests you have missed due to absences.  Whether you need only 20 minutes to make up a short quiz, or you want to knock-out multiple tests from different teachers at the same time – the Testing Center is the route for you!  Every Tuesday and Thursday, from 6:30 – 7:30 AM, in Mrs. Portie’s Room 178, in House 3. Students, please be sure to bring a photo ID with you to the Testing Center to verify identification.

  • The UAA admission advisor will be in the library all day today.  She will be here to answer questions, help you complete your college applications, connect you with your scheduling advisor, and anything else you need help you get ready for UAA next year.  Also in the library from 9:30-noon will be the UAA representative for UA Scholars and the Alaska Performance Scholarship.  She is coming to help the transition to UAA and to make sure you are in line to receive the scholarships. Please stop by the library today.
